Study With Experienced Professionals

Martin Palomo (MBA 2019) of Jackson describes his EMBA class as “The best cohort ever!” 

The chance to study with other experienced professionals was a big part of what attracted him to the Executive Masters of Business Administration Program in the Else School of Management at Millsaps College. “I was working at Pinnacle Trust as a wealth management advisor and investment officer. I began contemplating starting a social enterprise outside of the United States and needed more skills,” Palomo said. “I looked around and the scheduling of the EMBA program worked well for me. It also gave me the opportunity to be in a class with other students who had a similar level of work experience and purpose.”

Palomo found the faculty to be respectful of their students. “They allowed us to wrestle with ideas. The classroom experience was very much empowering and encouraging,” he said. The international, out-of-the-classroom experience was also rewarding. “The Merida trip was a great experience! Our project was a lot of fun. The entire EMBA experience is way beyond what you pay for it.”

When asked how earning the Millsaps MBA impacted his career, Palomo says, “It’s been a pretty significant impact. I have tons more confidence, and they pay me more!” Palomo is now the president and chief investment officer at Pinnacle Trust.
